    Practice Owner
Dr. Kimani Griffith acquired ownership of Country Lakes Animal Clinic (established in 1974) in 2009 and looks forward to constantly improving its standards of excellence. Having grown up in Warren, NJ, he graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School before attending Bucknell University for his undergraduate degree in biology. He attained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of West Indies, afterward attending clinics at Cornell University. He started his veterinary career at Livingston Animal Hospital in Livingston, NJ before joining Country Lakes Animal Clinic in 2008. He is accredited by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and also a certified member of the Penn HIP referral network.

Dr. Griffith was inspired to become a veterinarian by his fascination with science and love of animals, as well as the unique challenges of working with animals and their caregivers.  He appreciates the interaction that he has with his clients, patients and coworkers in a compassionate team setting, to deal with the health and well being of his patients.

His love of medicine is evident in his work, with special interest in ophthalmology, neurology, endocrinology and clinical pathology. He also takes pride in his active participation in pet adoption. Country Lakes Animal Clinic works closely with local animal shelters to house dogs and cats in need of homes, socializing if necessary and hosting adoption days to find loving homes for those in need.  Check out our adoption page for animals currently in need of loving homes.

Dr. Griffith stresses the importance of quality of care for the pet and education of the client to facilitate a long and healthy life for our furry family members. He shares his home with his wife Shanthini, daughter Aubrie and dog Homer.

I am an experienced pet groomer and have been working in North Jersey for the past 13 years. My love for animals began at a very early age. There hasn't been a time in my life when animals weren't a part of it. Animals are my passion! I've studied and worked with some of the top grooming salons in Morris County. Along the way, I picked up different grooming techniques and skills that have molded me into the groomer I am today. My background is unique and diverse. I've spent years working as a veterinary technician as well as a groomer. I worked closely with many veterinarians and have absorbed a great deal of knowledge. Because of my vast experience I believe in a high standard of expertise & proficiency. I also have a high level of compassion, kindness and standard of safety for your pets.  I feel your pet’s grooming experience should be fun and pleasurable. I groom all breeds and sizes of dogs and I’m very familiar with all of the cuts and styles. I am a dog groomer by profession, but I am a true lover of all animals at heart. I look forward to meeting you and your pets at Country Lakes Animal Clinic.

My name is Liz, I first started in the animal field by doing an online course, a year later I then followed my love for animals with my first job at an emergency animal hospital, where I learned most of what I know now. I left shortly after three years to continue my career closer to home, that's when I started at Country Lakes Animal Clinic in June 2019, where I will continue to learn and exceed my love for animals.
